i just put up a new song here.
it's a bit of an homage to lil wayne, castanets, ladytron and phil collins.
it's totally unmixed but i really want to share it with everyone.

...postcard??

this is something i made for a postcard last night. i just added the text. i'll be thinking about it for a few days.
let me know what you think
usually, cover art and that type of shit ends up coming together at the last minute and i'm rarely bowled over by it. i'm trying to make everything at the same time, in the same environment, like a little idea community or maybe more like a big dinner. one thing influences the other...

Untitled (psychology channel)
this will be shown along with slower twin and 6-8 other films, as a series of television "channels"
this is another found footage film, this time with mostly commercial 16mm footage as opposed to 8mm home movies (as in 'slower twin')
the compression here is better than the travel loop

travel loop
this is one of many Super 8 loops (transferred to digital video) to be shown in one of the 5 different spaces of the gallery. There are individual soundtracks for each space.
Many of the loops are in-camera edits, meaning that they were shot with the intention being shown as they were seen by me/the camera.

Slower Twin
This is one of 35-40 short films in the installation...it's probably heavily compressed. I'll be trying to find the highest quality compression that I can.
Slower Twin
2007
found footage, original soundtrack, 1/4" tape loops
stay tuned for more

i know no time when we were not as now
Welcome to the internet home base for my thesis project titled "I know no time when we were not as now."
You'll find video clips, songs, essays and information regarding this multimedia project here.
"I know no time..." is an experiential project to consider time and temporality via the mediums of film, sculpture, sound, music, light, space, installation, performance, experimental electronics and interactivity.
--The first component of "I know no time..." is an experiential installation. It will be exhibited at Hampshire College's Main Gallery from March 22nd-March 30th. There will be musical performances every evening and a larger reception on March 28th from 5pm-9pm. The gallery will be open from 9AM-11PM every night during the course of its exhibition.
--The second component of "I know no time..." is an album of recorded music, to be distributed from the gallery and played live, in some fashion, every night of the exhibit.
--The third component of the project will be a 30 page essay discussing experiential works and the relationship art has/should have to contemporary concepts/philosophies of time, contemporary psychology and new/metaphysics.
--The work will culminate into a 30-minute film/video, the fourth and final component, that not only documents the work but expands upon the concepts discussed within the essay.
Visit myspace.com/thegovernment for a few songs in the time being while this blog is expanded upon.
Thanks for visiting and see you at the show!!
